“Mythologies” exhibition at the Bonnat-Helleu Museum
About
The Bonnat-Helleu Museum opens a thrilling chapter of foundational stories with “Mythologies”, its first temporary exhibition since reopening. From the Basque mountains to Ancient Greece, from Egypt to Japan, the show invites you to trace how myths echo across centuries through heroes, gods, monsters, and fantastic creatures—set within an immersive exhibition design.
Nearly a hundred works are brought together thanks to a partnership with the Louvre Museum and the exceptional participation of the Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac. Highlights include Raphael’s Saint George Fighting the Dragon, alongside works by Rubens, Van Dyck, Poussin, and Géricault. A must-do cultural outing in Bayonne for summer and fall.
