Pirogue Festival 2026

Pirogue en fêtes 2026 returns on July 15, 2026 to kick off the Bayonne Festival in a sporty, festive, and friendly atmosphere.

Organized by Aviron Bayonnais Va’a, the event invites you to the Nive River for a day of water sports, canoes, and the festive spirit of the Fêtes de Bayonne.

In the morning, the spotlight will be on a 4-lap, 3-km race, either solo or as a relay, open to canoes, kayaks, SUPs, and prone paddlers. In the afternoon, the OC5 challenge will take over in a sprint format, open to companies, organizations, and individuals.

A costume contest will add an even more festive touch to the day, with coxswains provided if needed.

Throughout the event, you can also enjoy entertainment, the refreshment stand, and on-site dining, all in the perfect atmosphere to celebrate the start of the holiday season.
