THE SCORPION FISH

THE SCORPION FISH, a work by Nicolas Bouvier, adapted and performed by Samuel Labarthe, returns to the Théâtre de Poche Montparnasse.

Following the success of L’Usage du monde in 2023, Samuel Labarthe once again embodies Nicolas Bouvier in this striking production. Through his writing, the travel writer takes us to Ceylon, where illness forces him to pause his journey. In a room filled with insects and visions, he transforms stillness into an inner journey, both witty and deeply alive. Writing becomes a remedy, a way to tame reality and rebuild oneself.

Adapted by Anne Rotenberg, Gérald Stehr and Samuel Labarthe, directed by Catherine Schaub, with set design by James Brandily, lighting by César Godefroy, sound design by Aldo Gilbert and video by Mathias Delfau.
