European Heritage Days at the National Customs Museum

The National Customs Museum takes part in the European Heritage Days on 19–20 September 2026 with a rich program blending heritage, history, dance, theater, and opera.

Saturday 19 September:

• 2–6 PM: Meet customs motorcyclists and discover the diversity of careers within the administration with the recruitment service.
• Demonstrations of 19th-century costume dances by the association @bal.dantan.
• 6–9 PM: The @operadebordeaux takes over the grand honor staircase for the “Staircase Night”.

Sunday 20 September:

• 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM & 4:30 PM: The museum and AHAD present “The Taxpayer’s Troubles”, a costumed show by Mireille Touzery, inspired by texts from Louis-Sébastien Mercier.

Throughout the weekend, the permanent collections, the exhibition “Customs at the Frontiers of the Open Sea”, and the courtyard of the Hôtel des Douanes will be freely accessible.
