Meeting with Thi Colas - 'Arbre pleure'
About
The Caractères bookstore invites you to a special meeting with Thi Colas (@thicolas) for her book Arbre pleure, published by Wildproject Editions.
Dive into an insurrectional and poetic narrative where Thi Colas explores a rising anger from the depths of a country, blending the voices of Indigenous workers, settlers, animals, and plants. A unique sensory and spiritual experience, blending prose and poetry, where gentleness meets rage.
In powerful prose, Thi Colas offers these words:
« The fertile soil of dead bodies, corpses, rotting babies and workers, bodies that belong to the French governor, to the empire, to power. The earth ferments the names of humans. Compost of pain. »
Born in Vietnam at the end of the war, Thi Colas grew up in Normandy and Paris before living abroad for many years. After working in various book-related fields, she now dedicates herself to poetry and decolonial ecology. She is a documentalist teacher in Seine-et-Marne.
